Virtual Account Migration
Action Required: If you opened USD or EUR accounts via Sorbet before March 2026 this is relevant to you.
Sorbet Infrastructure Migration & Re-Verification Process
To support the expansion of Sorbet’s global payment infrastructure, we are upgrading our banking and verification systems. As part of this transition, all users will need to re-complete the verification process and migrate to new virtual banking accounts.
This document explains what is changing and how to ensure a smooth transition.
Current Infrastructure
Until now, Sorbet provided USD and EUR virtual accounts through our partner Bridge.
User verification (KYC/KYB) was completed through Persona, which allowed us to onboard individuals and businesses securely.
With this setup, Sorbet users could:
Receive USD payments via ACH or Wire transfers
Receive EUR payments via SEPA transfers
This effectively allowed users to collect payments locally in USD and EUR, even when operating internationally.
Why We Are Upgrading
As Sorbet expands its payment infrastructure and adds new global capabilities, we are migrating to a new banking setup that supports:
More payment corridors
Additional currencies
Faster global transfers
Improved compliance and onboarding
As part of this upgrade, all users will need to complete a new verification process.
The good news is that the new verification flow has been significantly improved and should take less than 5 minutes to complete.
Migration Timeline
Until March 18
Your Sorbet account will continue operating normally.
You can still:
Receive payments using your existing USD and EUR account details
Use Sorbet exactly as before
On March 18
The migration will be completed and the following changes will take place:
Previous USD and EUR account details issued through our earlier infrastructure will be deactivated
Once re-verification is completed, new banking details will be issued through Sorbet
These new accounts will support:
USD accounts (ACH, Wire, SWIFT)
EUR accounts (SEPA)
AED accounts (for users requiring UAE payments)
More currencies coming soon!
What You Need To Do
To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend completing the new verification before March 18.
Once verified:
Complete verification here
You will receive new Sorbet virtual account details
You can begin using these accounts for all future payments
You should update your clients with your new banking details
Completing verification early helps avoid any disruption to incoming payments once the migration becomes active.
Fees
As part of this upgrade, Sorbet has also simplified its pricing.
All transactions will now be charged a flat 1% fee, making cross-border payments more transparent and predictable.
If you have any questions regarding the migration, please contact the Sorbet team.
