Delete Your Account

How to delete your Sorbet account, protect your wallet, and understand data retention.

Request deletion without signing in

If you cannot access your account or app, email support@mysorbet.io from your registered email address. Use Delete my account as the subject.

We may ask you to verify your identity. This prevents fraudulent deletion requests.

We acknowledge requests within five business days. We complete verified requests within 30 days. United States privacy laws may allow up to 45 days.

Timing

You lose account access as soon as deletion is confirmed. Backend deletion and anonymisation complete within 30 days.

Your wallet after deletion

Deleting your account removes your access to the embedded wallet through Sorbet. It does not delete the wallet itself or move funds held in it.

If you exported your private key and smart wallet address, you retain control of the wallet. Import your private key into a wallet application that supports smart accounts. Then add your smart wallet address. Importing only the private key shows the signer account, not the smart wallet where your funds are held.

If you did not export both items, Sorbet cannot restore your access.

What we delete

When we complete your request, we delete or irreversibly anonymise:

  • Your account, login credentials, and profile. This includes your name, username, photo, bio, links, and widgets.

  • Account contact details, including your email address and phone number.

  • Saved recipients and payment method details.

  • Draft and unsent invoices and their client details.

  • Embedded wallet access provided through Privy.

  • Marketing and notification preferences and subscriptions.

  • Support attachments and uploaded files that we do not need to retain.

  • Product analytics identifiers linked to you. We delete or de-identify these identifiers.

What we keep, and why

Sorbet works with regulated financial-services partners. Legal and regulatory obligations require us to retain certain records after account closure. We retain only what is necessary. Compliance and legal personnel have restricted access.

We retain the following for the period required by law and regulated partners. This is commonly five to ten years after account closure:

  • Identity verification records, including KYC and KYB documents and verification outcomes

  • Sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening results

  • Completed transaction records, including payment instructions and settlement confirmations

  • Sent and paid invoices

  • Support communications connected to a compliance matter or dispute

Data we cannot delete

Blockchain records are public. Sorbet cannot delete or modify on-chain data, including wallet addresses and transaction history.

Regulated partners and verification providers may hold some data as independent controllers. This includes providers such as Bridge, Due Network, and Privy. We pass your deletion request to them where applicable. Their regulatory obligations determine their retention periods.

After deletion

  • Deletion is permanent. A completed deletion cannot be reversed.

  • Your Sorbet profile URL becomes available again.

  • Your referral and affiliate history closes. Unpaid rewards are forfeited unless the law requires otherwise.

  • Tell anyone who pays you regularly to stop sending funds before you delete.

  • Cancel open invoices before you delete.

  • You can sign up again at any time, but you will need to complete identity verification again.
